Vaisala IceWeb

IceWeb creates HTML pages from standard, pre-defined IceCast Viewer displays. These pages make the road and runway information that is usually accessed through IceView available for Internet and Intranet applications. By using the Internet or an Intranet, communication costs are reduced considerably and users can monitor the data easily.
The system administrator defines the HTML pages with IceWeb server. They are then made available for users to view in their web browsers. Sensor and forecast data can be viewed
in tabular, graphical or cartographic formats. Webcam images are also supported.
IceWeb is ideal for tasks involving data monitoring. IceView offers many more features and configuration options, making it a more powerful tool for winter maintenance decision-making.

Hosting

1. Vaisala can host the web server through the Vaisala Bureau server.
In this scenario, Vaisala collects the sensor and forecast data from the customer's local IceCast system servers, wherever they might be in the world, and places the information on our web server, where users can access it over the Internet.  This approach is suitable for customers who do not wish to set up a web server and deal with the associated IT issues themselves. An added benefit is that Vaisala staff are onsite 24 hours a day from October through April in the event that maintenance is required.

2. Alternatively, customers with the required facilities may prefer to configure their own web servers, handling the web administration ''in-house''. This may be more practical for organizations that wish to link the information to other web pages hosted locally.
